A river boat is aware of something large swimming beneath it. Tracking it with sonar equipment in a small boat, a 'gill-man' appears and is attacked with harpoons, drenched in kerosene and set alight.
The creature extinguishes itself in the water and upturns the boat but is stopped when hit by a drugged spear.
Back in the laboratory it is examined, but later it breaks loose from its guarded cage causing havoc before heading towards the sea.
These excerpts come from the second sequel to "Creature From The Black Lagoon'' and is the only one one of the three to be made without the benefit of 3-D.
It's easy to laugh at the obvious process shots and the rubber-suited monster, but this low-budget thriller is quite atmospheric and crams a fair amount of action into its unhurried length. A good print helps. HB. .
