UNIVERSAL 8

UNIVERSAL 8.

Universal 8 are yet another company that no longer exist. Originally called Castle Films, they changed their name in the 1970's, to reflect the parent company name? (I think). All the films from this company were of course from Universal Pictures. Titles include The Car, 1941, The Blues Brothers, Ssssss, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Woody Woodpecker.

The length of films ranged from 100' right up to full features, although the vast majority were 400' and 800' which gave a running time of 18 to 38 minutes.

Castle/Universal were distributed in the UK by Capital Films, and later by Derann Films.

Another look on the secondhand lists if you want any of their releases. See Companies.
